A pioneer in his field, Vicks has more than 18 years experience spanning the Telecommunications & IT industry, having successfully held a variety of high profile manufacturing, operations, and business development positions. He started his career in 1993 as a QA Engineer in the manufacturing sector of MOTOROLA (where he also lectured at the University) before moving to MAXIS (Malaysia) where was responsible for the launch of Mobile & Fixed Services and later, for managing projects such as HFC Network deployment, Number Management, and Migration of Network Platforms.
Vicks was also the Quality Champion for CCAAP Technologies in Malaysia, the Program Manager for LOGICA in APAC, and the Vice President of Operations (APAC) for Telemedia Networks International - all before 2001, when he was invited to develop business in Asia Pacific for Business Logic Systems. With such extensive technical and operational knowledge of the industry, he is responsible for sales and operations, and managing the region's channel partners.
An award winning, professional engineer (graduated from University of Leicester), Vicks is a member of the Institute of Engineering & Technology (UK), the Project Management Institute Inc., and the Chartered Institute of Marketing. Aside from his many professional qualifications, Vicks also setup a foundation called GENIUS (Grouping of Entrepreneurs for Networking, Innovation, Unity and Success). Comprising friends and business acquaintances, the key objective of this foundation is to act as a facilitator to assist disadvantaged people. Outside of work and ventures, Vicks is a keen sportsman and avid reader of business, motivational, and spiritual literature.
